I'm going to Italy this week to pick up a Lambro 500L 1968. I have brought about 70 Lambrettas back in the last 10 years so I know how to get them registered but I'm not sure with the Lambro. I guess I need an age relation certificate from somewhere (LCGB perhaps?). And then an MOT. Do I get this done at a bike shop or car MOT station? AS the Lambro was never officially imported into the UK will there be any problems registering it? I believe MCE do insurance. I have a full clean bike license so it should be cheap. Also does it need a front and rear regsitration plate or just rear like a bike? Not sure about the construction and use rules on this hybrid scooter/3 wheeler/van.
thanks
Ian

Hi Ian, Its pretty much the same as two and four wheels, there is nothing special. LCGB letter MOT is class three, VOSA website will tell you your nearest one, as it is not a bike or car one, it is three wheel specific. Class three is three wheels under 500kg. No problems what so ever in registering it. MCE were good with me on insurance, but they chuck in break down, legal cover, personal injury cover. They didnt tell me this, and I dont need any other them, lopped £110 of the price! Because it has a cab and screen, it needs a wiper and washer. Needs mirror on the right hand side. It only needs a rear plate. Shaun who posted on here helped me with the MOT online manual, it can be found here www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m4i00000001.htmThis part is relevant to three wheelers. www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m4s09000001.htmIts all very straight forward really.
